Come in and take a seat…
Nice to meet you
I’m Laura Chaudhary - an American psychotherapist and counsellor in Singapore.
I look forward to learning about what has brought you here today - what challenges you are facing, what your hopes are for the future, and how we might work together to bring you closer to the life you want to be living.
Are you the right therapist for me?
I have a particular interest in supporting clients through life transitions whether that’s a move to a new country, relationship beginnings and ends, the birth of a child, or processing the loss of a loved one. These significant transitions can bring a mix of unexpected and challenging emotions, as well as a reevaluation of what matters most. I work with individuals experiencing a range of concerns including:
Depression
Anxiety
Adult ADHD
New parenthood
Relationship issues
Low self-esteem
Body image
Sleep difficulties
Grief and loss
My approach is integrative and draws on my training in evidence-based therapies, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), schema therapy, as well as mindfulness and psychodynamic theory.
Having lived and worked in New York, Hong Kong, and Singapore, I am attuned to the importance of cultural nuances in my therapeutic practice. My appreciation for diversity is further informed by my own experience as a member of a multi-racial, multi-lingual family. I have had the privilege to help those navigating intercultural relationships/families/identities. My practice is neuro-affirming and welcoming to the LGBTQ+ community.
I completed my clinical training at Monash University, where I received a master's degree in counselling. I also hold a master's in psychology from the University of Hong Kong. Prior to my studies in mental health, I completed degrees in philosophy and religion from Vassar College and Harvard University.
